The greed of the Supermarkets!

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Gill Burrell, Friday, 24 Feb 2023, 16:54

What is happening in our supermarkets?
The prime minister had told the poor to buy only the cheapest unbranded products (supermarkets own brand) but now you can not find them, because they have removed the cheapest available brands, in order to force people to buy the most expensive brands!
This is going totally against helping people with the cost of living crisis. The greed of the supermarkets!

All this is to do with Brexit too of course. Why did they not prepare for this?

Hi Gill

The supermarkets up here in the Borders still have their own brands on the shelves

Also an awful lot of the products have a yellow sticker (half price) on even though still well in date

I have not noticed much of an increase in my weekly shopping

Hi Judith,

In Scotland there is more social justice than England.

Perhaps they are managing stock levels via sending to stores where more of the own brand things would sell, from stores where fewer of those things would normally sell.

Hi Jessica,

Could be. Sainsbury's has always been a bit of a posh shop anyway. Looks like I will have to shop around a bit more.
