Black Belt

Nothing is as hard as it looks,

Everything is more rewarding than you expect,

And if anything can go right, it will,

And at the best possible moment!

It took me six years to achieve my Black Belt in Gojuryu Karate and Shotokan Karate, and another 11 years to finally achieve my 4th Dan. When you achieve 1st Dan, the learning begins. This is the same as University in a way, you achieve your Certificate and Diploma in Higher education and then the deeper learning takes place before achieving your degree.

I am about to start my final year of study to achieve my Bachelor of Laws (Honours) LLB and I have enjoyed every minute. The last year for me starts in October 2022 and at the age of 62 I am looking forward to learning EU Law together with Law, Society and Culture.

The main challenge I have had and continue to have, is managing my PTSD, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, lack of sleep and tiredness. I have found that short periods of study followed by short breaks in the fresh air helps.

I am motivated by my father (RIP) and my children.

Best wishes for the success of your study journey and may you achieve whatever your desired outcome is.

SXR103 chemistry is fun (2008) :-)

Hi Eliot,

And even when you have your Bachelors degree, that's when the real learning starts.

In my experience, a degree is also a beginning, not an end.

Best wishes for managing your illness and your study smile
