UK Autumn 2022.

Visible to anyone in the world
The Autumn is nearly upon us and along with that comes a new prime minister, and the start of a new academic year.
For me it has been a time of preparation, buying thermals, batteries for camping lights and charcoal for the BBQ, (just in case syndrome!)
It used to be Christmas that was eagerly anticipated, now it is how will the new prime minister deal with the pressing issues of the day.

The energy crisis.
What has the Autumn got in store for small independent businesses? Please let there be good news, because if they are no more, all we will be left with, are the big conglomerates.
Little human interaction and huge headaches and frustration.

How does the new prime mister appear to view UK society?
Very little if her speech writers are to be believed. The use of the term 'handouts' again being rolled out to detriment of the population, (nothing like stigmatising and causing divisions throughout the population!)
All of us in some way contribute by paying tax, be it by shopping, driving and socialising as well as working.  We all contribute in one way or another and some may need more assistance than others. Once again assumptions and presumptions, it appears to be easier to stigmatise and cause divisions than to be inclusive and mindful.

Strikes.
The use of the term, 'militant' to describe desperate workers.
Free speech seems to be determined by your privilege and status, not for the likes of the working class that keep the country turning. What else is there to do when you are not being heard?
It appears that if there is a difference of opinion instead of finding solutions it is easier to use old strategies and stigmatise then to try and seek new solutions and strategies.

The terminology that has been used throughout the new prime ministers' campaign speeches unfortunately, does not inspire much confidence within me.

Let's hope the terminology used is just down to the speech writers and that there will be a silver lining for all this Autumn.
