An Allotment with vege and a plastic frame for tomatoes and cougettes

The other day I took a short break from my usual caring duties at home, to spend a few hours on my very kind neighbours allotments. It was located in quite a large field,  along with other allotments, only a short drive to the edge of the next village.

We helped our friends collect all the vegetables, courgettes yellow and green, some beans, tomatoes green and red, peppers, chillies potatoes and carrots. They gave us plenty to take home with us!

After gathering up all the vegetables,  we set out some deck chairs beside the shed and enjoyed a nice glass of red wine together and sandwiches. We had a little chat and enjoyed the views of the surrounding countryside. The sun was shining, the birds were singing in the trees and in the next field they were harvesting the wheat.

I have found a really great recipe in a magazine , for the courgettes stuffed with a cream cheese and other fillings some courgettes farcies, also I am going to make a tomato chutney with the tomatoes. Then tomorrow, we are going to gather some of the bramble berries up growing just nearby, as some are already ripened. These will be very good ias a cold bramble berry crumble with cream or ice cream on the side.

We used to have an allotment  ourselves once, years ago, but life got a bit too hectic! So we didn't have enough time to tend our plot, and allotments really  have to be tended to very often or they just get overgrown and full of weeds instead of vehetables!  However , it is great fun to help on an allotment with friends, then you can share the work of the digging and the weeding together!
