Finding my voice

Visible to anyone in the world

Today's 'Writer in the world' message is to find my voice for these blog posts. I think my tone is friendly, informative and sometimes humorous. I'd like to think so.

I'd like to connect with writers and readers with similar interests to my own so, as well as creative writing, I most enjoy cooking, handicrafts and music.

So today's little snippet is about food: At the moment I'm knee-deep in cooking for Christmas. I'm very much one of those people who likes to get organised and put as much as I can in the freezer so I can just defrost it on Christmas Eve and don't have to do too much on The Day. So far I've got two types of stuffing (one more to go), a Buche de Noel, a vegetable Wellington (my daughter-in-law's vegetarian), red cabbage and some chocolate truffles. There are still the pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce, bread sauce, brandy butter and mince pies to go. (I don't have to worry about the pudding - there's still one left over from the batch I made last year.) It looks like I've got a busy day ahead of me today!

Does anyone else do this much prep? Or is it just me?

Hi Sue, 🙂
I am the same as you lots of prep to do before christmas day. It is all worth while when the family comes round!
It is good to spend quality time with all the family together.
Last year I didn't have to do much as we went to my son's for Christmas. This year everyone is coming to us. It should be interesting with 3 vegetarians to cater for. But It all adds to the fun! 😄

Best wishes
Gill

Hi Gill

How lovely to have all the family round - how many will you be catering for? Where do you get your recipe inspiration from? I swear by Delia, but also the BBC Good Food magazine and, lately, Jamie Oliver.
