Festive Goodies

Visible to anyone in the world

Just following on from yesterday's post, I can confirm that all three types of stuffing have now been made and frozen. That is, your normal sage and onion (it's just mainly sage, onion and bread - easy peasy!), chestnut, and a fancy-schmancy 'Jewelled Stuffing Roll' which I've made every year for about a couple of decades and which I'm not allowed not to make! If you want the recipe, let me know.

So this writing blog has turned into a cookery blog. Who'da thought? That's what being a 'pantser' is all about - sitting down and writing whatever comes out of your finger tips.

I'm off to do some studying now - have a great evening.

Finding my voice

Visible to anyone in the world

Today's 'Writer in the world' message is to find my voice for these blog posts. I think my tone is friendly, informative and sometimes humorous. I'd like to think so.

I'd like to connect with writers and readers with similar interests to my own so, as well as creative writing, I most enjoy cooking, handicrafts and music.

So today's little snippet is about food: At the moment I'm knee-deep in cooking for Christmas. I'm very much one of those people who likes to get organised and put as much as I can in the freezer so I can just defrost it on Christmas Eve and don't have to do too much on The Day. So far I've got two types of stuffing (one more to go), a Buche de Noel, a vegetable Wellington (my daughter-in-law's vegetarian), red cabbage and some chocolate truffles. There are still the pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce, bread sauce, brandy butter and mince pies to go. (I don't have to worry about the pudding - there's still one left over from the batch I made last year.) It looks like I've got a busy day ahead of me today!

Does anyone else do this much prep? Or is it just me?
