LEAVING

Visible to anyone in the world

My work is now getting censored thanks to some whining snowflake so I will not be posting much more. I am going to be removing my work. I have already taken down most of my art so if there is anything you want to read you need to do it now as it will all be going in the next few weeks.

I will be putting up a final post at some point.

Hi

Sorry to see that your leaving, though I don't think you should.

Why can people not just ignore something they read if it offends them.

What the heck is wrong with people that they are so wrapped up in themselves that everyone else can do nothing right.

Couldn't agree more, I am aware that sometimes the language I use is provocative and abrasive, it is deliberately so, a device to challenge the reader and the insanity of some of the issues in the media and society today. If I think something is challenging for some to deal with, I will post that it could be offensive. To my mind if you go ahead and read it then you made the choice.

Apparently, I'm breaking the university code to 'treat everyone with dignity and respect'. Which is fine if you are deserving of dignity and respect but not everyone is. And I wasn't aware that Zelensky, or Bono were part of the OU but there you go!! Ironically, one of the posts deleted was titled 'Equality, Diversity and Inclusion'. You couldn't make it up! Everyone's included except those who disagree with the 'current thing'.

The thing that really annoyed me about it, is that there was no debate, no specifics as to what was offensive within each of the posts they deleted. Just someone complained and that was it, deleted.

And why did the complainant not comment and say they were offended and what they were offended by. Start a conversation, get the issues out there, debate like adults used to do. To me this was the cowards way out, like some childish nacket as we used to say, running to tattle to the 'authorities'. Extremely immature.

I am in the process of reviewing my work. I have copies of everything so they can delete all they like, the work is saved. I'm still in two minds about leaving but I don't really see how I can go on considering the content of my work. The screws of censorship and getting tighter and I have a feeling this is just the beginning.

I think I speak for the majority when I say it would be a travesty to see you and the blog go.

Thank you very much for that. I'm still not sure what to do. My initial response was to just leave but I hate to leave it too.

Don’t leave 🙂

As you stated why couldn’t the person just say what bothered them  The OU should have also explained their reasoning behind censoring

Please come back

Please come  back. Was it politics or climate warming denial that provoked someone?

Politics is always dangerous - I  could for example post logical and watertight arguments as to why all current problems, from lack of social housing to the Grenfell Tower disaster are directly attributable to Conservative manoeuvrings since Thatcher. I recently posted a comment on the Sunak facebook page telling him this. Now I see that comments are no longer allowed and all we get is a picture of him with subliminal  policy blips flashing on/off. Haven't seen anything that objectionable on your blog which contains information rather than rubbish.

Turning Japanese

Still not sure what to do, I took a step back from everything and was away on the holiday of a lifetime in May to Japan which was taking up my time and attention before.

I was just checking my email tonight and thought I would go back and read the letter they sent. Here it is. I will be going back again and asking for specifics and they still haven't specified what exactly was 'offensive'. By the way if anyone wants a copy of any of the offending literature, send me your email address and I will forward them on.

Get a load of the patronising tone of the last paragraph, it's beyond satire!!
