Study, Caring and Health

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Gill Burrell, Tuesday, 9 Apr 2024, 19:25

I am still struggling to get my health back to normal again after the Covid.  I am finding long walks just too exhausting, so I think I will try shorter quicker bursts of exercise instead, this will include walking the circuit of my village.

Starting from the park including the park, taking the longer route and ending up on the market place. This usually takes about 3/4 of an hour. I must set aside a time during the day between caring duties and study to take a walk.

My diet will have to change too, I just feel so heavy when I walk. I have decided to reduce and maybe even cut out completely, Carbs from my diet.
I am going to include instead low fat yogurts in my diet too.
Apart from that I will still eat vegetables, protein and fruit as usual. But no bread pasta, potatoes or desserts.

I have let myself go completely and piled on the weight. This is because I have been so busy doing my caring duties at home and going to appointments that I have neglected my own health. Now I intend to get back on track to a better health!

2024 this will be my year to get fit! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hi Gill

Look up The Fast 800

Not to do the diet but you will get some good protein packed recipes

I would stick with full fat yoghurts they keep you feeling fuller

I could also do to drop some weight 🤨

I blame the pandemic and lockdown

Hi Gill and Judith

I have to admit myself that I too have become an overweight victim of the pandemic as I am probably around 10 stone over what I should as I approach 51 in just over 2 months from now.

I feel that the confusion orders the government issued during 2020 / 21 were enough to complete eff up a lot of people's health both physically and mentally.  Whenever I am out with my other half and she suggests going for a walk there can be a few occasions where I have to put the brakes on and rest for 5 - 10 minutes before I can continue.  To me, the government has a lot to answer for, thinking they can mess up people's minds with confusing orders by 1 day saying we could go out then the following day telling us no can do and that we again had to stay inside, it's absolutely no wonder that population weight levels rose and worse than that, to have the nerve to say we need to get our populations weight down, hell government you lot caused us to gain weight, cheeky beeping so and so's, yeah definitely they have a lot to answer for.

I think the government ( if they want to right a lot of wrong's ) should allow the population to get hospital appointments for weight loss surgery and they foot the bill, they caused the problem so they can fix it and pay the bill.

You have both been very dear friends and I would hate to see you both suffer because of the government's foul up.

Hi Judith and Mike,

Thank you for your replies.  I appreciated your comments I thought I was the only one to feel like this!

I will definitely look up that 800 diet Judith!

Yes, this government has a lot to answer for with that lockdown.  I think we should have free access to gyms, swimming pools, and sport centers to help us lose weight and to get back into better shape. Paid by the council as a matter of fact. I dont suppose they will! Lets hope we can soon restore our health. Best wishes to you both. Gill
