Will the politicians fulfil their promises? Or is it all Rhetoric?
This is my wish list!
I would vote for a party who will protect and invest in the NHS as a public service. That everyone has access to a dentist, without having to pay too higher prices.
I would vote for a party who will make sure housing (rented) is available for all who need it. That the properties are well maintained and kept in good condition, with no dampness and broken down parts, but to be sure all repairs are carried out, when and where needed. Gardens and buildings made safe and clean. That rents don't increase too often.
Also that new affordable housing is built for first time buyers. As well as that, how about houses that can be renovated and made habitable for street (homeless) or all those who need homes.
To generally keep rent and house prices down!
I would vote for a party who will keep energy prices at a level everybody can afford. That it is not just for shareholders profits but for everyone's benefit.
To find ways that energy will not harm the environment. The environment is a particular concern and I would like the new government to find ways of protecting our environment.
I would vote for a party who would ensure affordable food prices and safe good quality food. For prices that stay within reasonable limits, that will not keep on increasing all the time!
A good Education system that is free on delivery. This includes free University Education too. Education is important and needs to be accessible to everyone.
Jobs that pay a fair wage in line with costs. That people can live decently without falling into poverty.
A party who would,
Protect the rights of citizens to live peacefully, without harassment, or racial abuse, sexual abuse, violence, child abuse, gender abuse, domestic abuse or abuse from employers who exploit their workers with low wages and zero hours contracts.
Is this all too much to ask for ?

Hi Gill
I completely agree with you and even though I won't be voting I think a lot of work is heading their way ( whoever the next government is ).
The 1 primary thing that gets me so annoyed is that all these mp's and political parties say we must do this we must do that, but when it comes down to actually doing what they said they must do, they realise it's a far bigger problem than was 1st thought and to add to that, they keep saying we must bring bills down but up to now the only evidence is in the gas and elecy prices.
They also keep saying they want to make running a car more affordable but price's at the pump are still around £1.40 a litre for petrol with diesel averaging 10 - 20p more no matter where you live. Then there's still the long running debate about elecy vehicles and wanting to get every road user into an elecy vehicle but are they going to give us the money to afford to buy a brand new car or convert an older car to elecy and on top of that, add in 10s of thousands more charging points and give home owners / renters who have cars the money to get charging points installed and afford the bills ( highly unlikely ), if they did all that then instead of getting rid of my car ( which I won't do as it is keeping me out of hospital ) I would convert it to elecy as even now with a petrol engine it's cheap to run + the insurance & tax are very good value so I'd rather keep it and convert it.
Regarding homelessness I cannot think of a situation that despite all previous governments saying we must address this and help these people, they've still failed to do so. I think what the next government should do is find groups of homeless people who do get on with each other and help each other out and say to them here are the key to a property, this is the address of it, we'll give you a grant to decorate the place and make it safe to live in and subject to those conditions being met, these people would then be able to claim UC and have money coming in on the conditions that they weren't peeing it up the wall through buying alcohol and / or drugs. Paying rent would be a huge issue for the next government to address as many homeless people wouldn't be able to afford it so by giving keys to a property to a group of them who get on and help each other and giving them money to decorate and furnish it even if only basic furnishings, that could begin to address the homeless situation.
Affordability of properties for prospective homeowners and renters aswell as current residents and tenants also needs to be addressed. I found out back in May this year that my rent ( once I receive my share of the sale money from my mum's house ) the social housing company want £105 a week for a 2 bedroom flat in an area where s lot of people have already told me the properties are nowhere near worth that much and at the moment I have to admit that I am seriously considering buying an old double deck bus or a 1970s merseyrail train ( once withdrawn from service ) and converting it into a house with virtually no bills because if rents keep rising, I will have no choice but to do that.
No matter what happens on after poling day. I think this country is going to go downhill very fast, I hope I am wrong but it's a feeling I have had since the election was announced.
We can only wait now and see what happens over the next 24 - 48 hours.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your comment. I am a bit confused this time around about voting. I know I have to come to a decision or not who to vote for.
I am not a car driver but I can see what you mean about the costs of going electric and charging points etc.
Good idea about homelessness and community living,. Often the homeless may be lonely, so this would enable them to feel part of a little community, like a family. They could help decorate the houses, with help of a grant or from a charity.
I wish everything was not so expensive in the shops!
Maybe tomorrow, I will make my mind up who to vote for. At the moment I don't like any of them! lol!
