We walked slowly along the shore
Wind and sand in our faces
Ours is the vast blue spaces
Of beach, sea and sky
Sea-gulls wheeled over head
With screeching cry
Lips tasting the salty sea
Salt in our watering eye.
Pebbles crunch beneath our feet
And slippery seaweed fronds
Wet with froth entwine
To tie our bonds
As hearts with love still beat
The giant windmills Their heads to the sky
A passing boat speeds quickly by
Leaving a trail of foam.
Time for us now, to head for home.
