In the UK we are not used to dealing with this sort of heat. I open all my windows at night to let the cooler air inside.
A lot of houses including mine, are fully insulated which is great in winter, but in summer it is roasting and sometimes I feel like I am being cooked, especially when it gets over30° - 40° As temperatures continue to soar in the Uk and in the world, homes may need to be adapted to cope with the changing climate. More ventilation is needed, such as air conditioning, (but this may not be good for the climate!) or extraction fans, to take out the hot air, that builds up indoors during the day.
Being overheated can lead to various health problems like migraines, headaches, sickness, dizziness, palpitations, heart problems and heat exhaustion. This is not very good for the health and people will suffer in the future if this sort of weather continues, with increasingly hot weather every summer.
Maybe one day it will be far too hot to live above the ground, then people might want to start to build underground houses instead, also to make cooler types of homes to live in during the hot weather!
What if it Becomes Hotter....
