A fierce heatwave is sweeping across Europe and this is causing dozens of wildfires across parts of southern Europe, forcing thousands of people to leave their homes and pushing temperatures above 40C (104F).
Red heat alerts have been issued in parts of Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and the Balkans, warning of significant risks to health.
France is under heat alerts , with temperatures forecast to reach 36C in the Paris region and 40C in the Rhône Valley.
The French Health Minister Catherine Vautrin said hospitals were prepared for fallout from the country's second heatwave in just a few weeks.
Parts of the UK are roasting in its fourth heatwave of the year, with temperatures hitting 33C and amber and yellow heat health alerts in place everywhere of England.
Two grassfires broke out in the capital on Tuesday, one in Ealing and another in Wanstead Flats, burning more than 17 acres combined.
These heat waves are exasperated by global warming from usage of fossil fuels and from pollution which is making the atmosphere hotter and hotter across the world.
What will the future be if this pattern continues year after year?
How can humans continue to exist in these overheated conditions? What are the health implications?
What are the politicians and world leaders doing about it?

Hi Gill
I saw a video once on youtube that was produced by the Met Office weather channel about a hypothetical situation ( 1 of many ) on what our weather could possibly be like by the year 2050.
I suggests that global warming exceeds the 1.5 °C limit and that as our winters get colder, our summer's get hotter and results in average daily temperatures being above 40°C during the daytimes and not getting much below 20 - 25 °C at night.
Heat advisories would become the norm and would possibly result in the government initiating cobra mertings to discuss a plan to essentially run our country backwards. By that I mean we would essentially be in bed during daytime hours with blackout curtains / blinds over our windows to help us sleep and getting up at night to go to work, do shopping and other daily stuff with the night time being cooler.
The hotter our planet gets, the more likely that governments, world leaders along with anybody in the various planning sectors may end up beginning talks and lengthy discussions about moving all city life currently above ground, into a living underground status.
There is also a plan which an American ( I think ) company is developing ( it may have even started to take shape ) about a space station which would be outside of Earth's gravity field ( so it would never face the possibility of plunging through Earth's atmosphere to a fiery destruction ) which would have 2 rings surrounding a central command area.
The outer ring would have docking ports and storage areas whilst the inner ring will have living quarters and the central section would have the station's command centre aswell as work and amusement units. In a sense it would be similar to the space station featured a star trek series ( Deep Space 9, not sure if you've ever seen it on tv ) but without the huge docking pylonsÂ
Interesting times ahead I reckon.
