Today, I am busy with my role as a Study Buddy, which I do on the English Forum and Joint Degree forum.. I like to chat with students about books and films and about what we have found helpful for studying languages.
I am really enjoying this, because I still feel part of the Open University even though I am no longer a student. It is good to be part of the Open University learning experience!
I do this each day at a certain time, and have my own personal blog. I am still learning through reading language books, and watching language films.
Even though I am no longer a student anymore, I am still privately learning and keeping up to date my language skills, so that I don't forget anything I have learned!

Hi Gill
Well done you becoming a study buddy.
I am studying L102 French for beginners and to be honest I am not enjoying it. Not sure what to do to get myself interested in. I know you sudied French, have you any tips on how I can get excited about it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Martin and Judith.
The best thing about being a Study Buddy is you can talk with other students and exchange study tips.
The things that keeps me interested in the subject of languages, as well as reading all the excellent materials from the Open University, are reading french language books and watching french films.
These are the things that keep me going! I enjoy reading books in english anyway, so I usually have a french book to read as well. I am also a regular visitor to the library and to the City Book shop where I can find some french language books. I even read children's books too sometimes!
It is all good for practising reading and understanding languages.
