We Watched A Good French film

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Gill Burrell, Sunday 7 December 2025 at 17:07

This afternoon the weather was icy cold. We had Just returned home from walking the shorter circuit, around the village.
Yesterday I had found a french film in our collection, which we had not yet viewed. This was another opportunity to practise my understanding of the french language, so after putting the heating on, we all settled down to watch it. The film was called;

"Dirty Dishes"  directed by Joyce Bun̈uel.1978 ‧ Drama/Comedy. In french language with english subtitles.

 With her two sons and a pushy husband (Pierre Santini), a (bored) French housewife (Carole Laure) tries out some diversions to change her life. However, things soon start to spin out of control for the couple and their family. Some quite comical  moments, with existential twists and turns, but all's well that ends well. A very entertaining film for followers of french films.

Thank you Jim,

Sounds interesting. Films can be informative and show the human condition, with all it's frailties. Showing us we need to put our hopes into someone bigger than ourselves.

God Bless
