Jesus was the Paschal Lamb
Easter- possibly from an Old English pagan goddess of spring.
French- Pâques
Itallian - Pasqua
Spanish -Pascua de Reurrección
Paschal season- ChristianPassover
The facts
Jesus (the lamb of God) was an innocent man.
He came from Nazareth in Israel.
A Jew and a Palestinian.
He had a following of dedicated disciples who followed him wherever he went.
But he never fought or had an army because he was a pacifist.
He was eventually arrested by the Romans. For protesting about the money lenders in the temple. He was also accused of Blasphemy.
Jesus went about doing good healing the sick. Changing the lives of people for the better.
He spoke about the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God.
He spoke in parables to help us understand about the world and human existence.
These wise sayings or parables are written in the New Testament of the Bible and we can still access them today and read about his life. In the Bible- New Testament.
He taught us how to behave wisely, kindly and to love one another. He also told us to be humble.
He showed us it is better to Love than to Hate.
He taught us to value ourselves as children of God and that God loves us.
He taught us to value others more than ourselves.
Jesus knew he would be killed sooner or later by the authorities .
He knew that he was the Messiah from God, that he would have to give up his life to be the ransom to pay for our sins. To turn God's wrath away from us his people and to provide us forgiveness.
To those who truly repent.
He told us about good and evil. To be on guard against Satan the evil one ( the fallen angel) and to beware of his influence in our lives.
We will avoid Satan' s attacks using the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation, this we find in Jesus the Messiah.
By Praying to God, Repentance, Faith, Hope and Love.
To Love God as Jesus taught and love one another!

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your comment. I like to think Easter as the time of the "Christian Passover" Because the Lord will pass over our sins, if we truly believe in Jesus and repent.
Best wishes Gill

He will pass over us if we truly believe in God, in Jesus (his sacrifice) and follow his commandment's in the New Testament of the Bible.
