My Favourite Cake

(Foreign language film. With English subtitles)

Watched a lovely film on Film 4. It was good and quite amusing

(original Persian title: Keyke mahboobe man) is a critically acclaimed 2024 Iranian romantic comedy-drama directed by Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha. The film follows Mahin, a 70-year-old widow living in Tehran, who breaks out of her lonely routine to invite a taxi driver over for a memorable, evening meal and her favourite cake. 🎂  Well worth watching.

I love Iranian movies, Gill. I think it is the moral aspect of them that makes the writers probe into the deeper aspects of being human.

Hi Jim, It is good to have a glimpse into the lives of others and realise we all have similar struggles, like we all have to age, to experience seperation, as our children grow up and our friends depart. Having empathy with members of our community keeps us interested and bonded together as humans. As well as being part of God's family as believers.
