A colleague has just found and sent me an interesting review on the use of ICT in the general population. Here is the URL (which may or may not link). http://www.ukonlinecentres.com/corporate/images/stories/downloads/digitalinclusion_a_discussion_of_the_evidence_base.pdf
This contains some points that make me wonder about whether the evangelists for the 'Digital Native' argument are really overstating the case for a large number of youngsters. It also makes me wonder about the OU's move to on-line provision without increasing specific training (39% of UK adults do not use the internet and the uptake of internet connection has showed little growth since 2004)
Interesting stuff - if slightly off topic

Hi Vikki,
Thanks for the link...it works
Interesing introduction in the article...an overwhelming correlation between digital and social exclusion? It cathed my eye. I'll try to read it in between working on my TMA..good luck with yours!
Cheers,
