Surprisingly, I rather like it. It gives me a chance to sound off to someone other than the dog.
It is also a useful repository for thoughts and resources (and if someone else finds them useful so much the better), and it enables me to check out what other people are doing (although I do this less than I should and don't comment often because I spend so much time trying to keep up with the workload on the course)
My use of language is much less formal than in essays but probably about the same as in the Forum discussions. However in the Forum the posts and replies are directed to a known audience or to specific people. Here they are for anyone in the world so I suspect that I am more careful with the construction and references etc.
Whether I would blog if I were not using it for the course is another matter. I cannot imagine keeping a 'Christmas letter' type blog. I'd rather speak to my friends than blog at them.

Sounds very refelctive to me
Hi Vikki
I read your blog and was struck by how reflectrive it was and how as you wrote it you seem to be thinking things through in hindsight.
