The struggle was an impossible one. Not the first time that I have abandoned the vast stack of papers and notes; there is a severe limit to what you can put in. I'm happy with the TMA, the book will have to wait for another day. 'Research enough so that the research reveals its narrative', or some such I picked up from who knows who (an academic) being interviewed (don't know why), though it had to be Radio 4.
