But what does it tell you about what is going on in that head? This is what interests me. I am still the boy and always will be. I am the child who can remember his first day at school age 4 years and 11 months, who can remember two nursery schools before that too.

This is the problem with any self- portrait - there is a glazed, even demonic stare into the mirror. There's a picture I did trying to add colour that the children thought looked evil - very rarely for me as my mother encouraged us to keep everything we drew, I binned it. Hitler tried to draw and paint - had he got into the Vienna Academy then what?
