Visible to anyone in the world

Volunteering in various
organisations and managing my podcast at Home | !Visible
(ivisible.co.uk) increased
my awareness regarding the lack of equality that exists in the UK.
For example,
there is a lack of representation in the UK media industry for BAMEs. This is
particularly true for black women, and the disabled. There is also a lack of
access to green spaces for those groups.
So, I believe that I would be
very keen on advocating for the increase of Black women's representation, help fight racism to improve equality and provide a better outcome for disabled students.
I suffered from those
challenges, and I understand how difficult it can be to overcome those barriers. This put my self-worth in jeopardy for a long time.
Hence, I have a lived experience of not being represented as a black
woman and having to deal with racism in the UK, on top of being miss misunderstood due to my mental health challenges.
Top 4 points that I will advocate for :
Increase black women's representation in higher education.
Expand tools
to tackle racism in higher education.
Improve disabled
students’ experience in higher education.
Grow financial
help for students.
Raise awareness about the protection of the environment.
