Reflections of the first two weeks

Visible to anyone in the world

I have decided to use the OU blog for this course; primarily as it is easy to access when I log onto this website.  I have blogged in the past about different subjects and my main objective in those blogs was writing to an audience and I worked hard to make it an interesting, fun read.  This time my main objective when blogging is to be reflective about my learning and this is going to be a challenge for me.

So; my initial thoughts on the course: as a former teacher in HE I have taken the attitude that teaching adults is about facilitating learning and a questioning mindset to encourage engagement in the subject matter.  It, therefore, surprised me that I struggled a bit in these past couple of weeks getting to grips with the way this course is set up.  By that I mean that the learning from each other.  I had imagined reading (a virtual) pile of literature through which I would learn theories of the eLearning Professional and then I may post a couple of items to a discussion board.

My reasons for this thinking were due the nature of the MBA I studied, which was also with the OU.

Obviously the reality is different and I am getting used the idea.

I hope I can embrace this way of learning whole-heartedly and develop enough knowledge to complete the TMAs and EMA.
