October

I've decided to keep field notes on the OU blogs. As an OU birdwatcher I will be. Hubris, but fun, if only for me. One a month?

There is a rhythm to this OU life of ours, but we all march, "to the beat of a different drum". October means different things to different students, for some it's the exciting, start of the course; for others, the hell of the exam, the EMA deadline or the final end of the strife.

For some it's both or all.

It's interesting to me to see how different people feel about their October.

For me, today, it's the October-exam with its attendant horrors. I'm stressed, but I remember the feelings of an October 'new course'. I'll feel like that again.

That's the beauty of reading the blogs, wherever you are on the road you can...plug in...to another student's optimism, or despair, or hope, or worry...  You can remember when you felt like that, for all the emotions that you can possibly [OU] feel are on the blogs somewhere. Or are they?

For words are just words—how can they say everything?

I believe that words can say everything; but only if you have enough people who are willing to say what they really feel, in their own way. Then words can work.

I'm talking about you and the OU.

We have something special here, don't ever forget it, whatever October means for you. Now.
