Being blown backwards - 5 years

Visible to anyone in the world

Week 7 and we are starting the Open Education block. What is the importance of blogs? For most of this block I'll be going back to my open blog 5 years! Yes, it is that long since I completed H817 in the Open version. I'm not sure if it is offered on Future Learn but in 2013 Martin Weller ran this course blended (ie Open and through the Closed LMS). I have the badges to prove it! As soon as I get my cred.ly password reset, I can see whether they are the same badges.

Here is my Week 1 blog from that time: http://wentalearn.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/reflections-after-week-1-of-h817-open.html

I've checked the G+ Community and it's still there but the last post was 2014. Twitter is also a quiet place on the #H817 tag (last post by Dan Barrington in February).

I had seven other blog posts from that iteration of the course. It will be interesting to reflect on changes in MOOCs and technology and see how far things have moved or improved.

In the last 5 years I have definitely kept on the Open path and have so much more understanding of openness in the education sphere. For this Block I'll be blogging here but making these posts open so I might have some hope of seeing them 5 years hence!
