Things I have done while I am supposed to be planning TMA01

1. MOUNTAINS of ironing

2. Deep cleaned the tumble dryer (I didn't know it was possible to vacuum out so much lint)

3. Went to an exercise class despite not going to a single one for 5 years

4. Made bread from scratch

5. More ironing

6. Used an online thesaurus to research alternative words to all the words in the TMA question

7. Checked the ink levels in all the pens in my pen pot

8. Ran a deep clean cycle on the dishwasher and researched if I am using dishwasher salt correctly

9. Made a fresh pot of coffee, then a fresh pot of tea, then more coffee, then researched how much water I need to drink to counteract all the caffeine I have drunk

10. Looked ahead to the TMA02 questions, because somehow thinking about future assignments is going better than thinking about the current assignment

11. Wondered if the scented candle I am burning is the optimal fragrance for writing an essay, or whether I should find a more genius-thought-inducing scent

12. Optician appointment (first in 10 years)

13. Read the question aloud multiple times in the hope of a lightning bolt of inspiration punching me in the face

14. Checked I know where the Word Count tool is as I don't want to get penalized for going over (currently low risk on account of only having written 1 acceptable sentence, and I'm not even sure that one is very good, so I might delete it)

15. Checked I know how to use MHRA Endnote format (again, currently low priority due to not having the need for an Endnote in my single very average sentence)

16. Ironing again

I'm currently thinking about what I can take to the dry cleaners (nothing - I never dry clean things), whether I need to go to a grocery store (I don't - I went yesterday), whether I need to fill the car with gas (I don't), whether it would be productive to tidy the shoe cupboard (it actually probably would be, but I really don't want to because it does not smell great in there), and whether its time for another pot of tea (I think we all know adding more caffeine to this mix could be a disaster).
