Almost a year!

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Laura Wilkie, Wednesday, 9 Sep 2015, 15:38

I can't believe it's been so long!!

I have finished level one now and am today officially starting level two. Exciting!!

So what have I been up to in almost a year? Well moving out for a start, me and Sgt needed a fresh start, and i've recently increased my 'crazy cat lady' status with another kitten. So now I have two lunatic cats screaming at me when I get home from work because they're hungry.

I signed up for the marathon next month, but then I kind of gave up on that. I haven't pushed myself hard enough and while I do enjoy going out for runs i'm not even at 10 miles!

Speaking of exercising- i've lost a grand total of 8 kilograms and am feeling fabulous for it!!

My last two courses by the way- Passed! However, it was hard this time as I didn't focus as much time on them as I should have.

More exciting I suppose is i've been in the dating pool. My goodness it's hard work isn't it?!? I've met some weird and wonderful people along the way, but have finally found someone worth dating exclusively. At least for now!

Another day, another dollar!

Visible to anyone in the world

Oh my goodness I am so hungry right now it's unbelieveable! I forgot to make my lunch last night so it looks like i'll have to go get some pre-packed rubbish from Sainsburys. Either that or I take a trek down to go get some yummy raw vegan goodness from Goji.

I'll need to take some time to decide that as it doesn't really match in with my plans to go shopping at lunch- different directions and all that!

Well, at least I have a fairly busy day ahead of me, and I can't wait to get my fitness on with my personal trainer tonight. Only two weeks before I go away so it's time to get physical. I've actually been training for 8 weeks now, and have continually progressed- but I just know i'm aiming for a minute plank tonight- not fun! Combined with my 10 minute runs on the in between days i'm beginning to feel much better about myself, and never thought i'd actually look forward to exercise!

I'm also going to need to hit the books tonight to make sure i've got a head start on the studies, don't want to be left behind after my 2 week trip. I've also just remembered my other module website should be open today so i'm off to take a peek....whoop!!

Deadline day

Visible to anyone in the world

Well, today is the deadline for my EMA's. Thankfully due to a family emergency last week I submitted and posted my two EMA's last Tuesday. Now to sit and wait for the results.

On the plus side, my DB123 course site is open and i've also decided to join a study group to help me to get the most out of my studies. It will I suppose also give me the opportunity to get to know fellow students better- and that's always a good thing!

I've spent my morning catching up on all of the things I missed being out of the office last week. I don't think i've ever had so many forms to check through! It always makes me laugh when I think about my career- i've moved from death claims to tax. Benjamin Franklin would be proud of my career choices, famously stating 'in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.'. It certainly makes you think there must be some element of job security.

I'm off to the gym in a minute to go an do my ten minute lunch run- I always think i'd love to do longer but after changing, running, showering and dressing (usually spending a good 10 minutes faffing with my tights in an attempt to put them on untwisted) that's a good 45 mins gone! Luckily I had salad for tea last night and had the good sense to prepare one for work too. At least that's one thing less to worry about.

I'm also off out for some food/drinks this evening with a friend which will be nice- although I am rather tempted to order a salad and just have that with some herbal tea. I might be a (part time) student but I still don't have the stamina to get through a day at work after a night on the town!
