Time goes quickly

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Kenneth Mendez, Sunday 20 July 2014 at 04:06

Where the time has gone?? I've managed to complete and pass the two set of modules over the last ten months. MST121 and MS221 were challenging but enjoyable..... Thanks to my tutors, Erica and Eileen for their guidance.

Looking forward to start my third year, to start the next module M208 (Pure Mathematics). I'll definitely worked harder in this module.......

Mathcad License???

Visible to anyone in the world

Mathcad is a software that I've to used in my Mathematics modules :i.e MST121 and MS221.

In order for me to use the software, I've to obtain a licence from PTC. I try to do this via the internet but was not successful because I had problems such as:

1. The license file C:\Program Files (x86)\mathcad\mathcad14\licenses\license.dat... does not exist.

2. Capability error -  license running on Windows XP....... my laptop operating system is Windows 7.

3. Windows error - MC license stop working.

4. While running the Mathcad license wizard, it stuck on up to the point...' acquiring your license from PTC'.

Bear in mind that I've already obtained the Mathcad software via a disk from OU, which I've downloaded instantly.

So I've contacted the OU computer help desk several times (6 occasions) by e-mails and telephone calls to rectify the problem. However, I've been given several advice to sort this licensing problem.

Finally, I've decided to contact the PTC via the web to acquire the Mathcad license, which I did and they responded promptly (within 2 hours). PTC have sent me a file to install the license.

After downloading license file, guess what???? I'm having another error... an input error 'Path to license file is missing or invalid'

By this time, many assumed that I would be very impatient after trying to have this software up and running since mid-September. I'm going to be patient and persevere. I'll be calling OU computer help-desk and contacting PTC again ...... After all, I'm paying to use this software.........

CMA 51 Score and Feedback

Visible to anyone in the world

I've received my result for CMA51 and I'm among the 21% of students who obtained scores between 70 and 84 percent. For that I'm happy....

However, I've discovered that I'm still weak on inequality equations and I've to sort this weakness soon.

I'll have a discussion with my tutor on how to improve on this weakness, so that next time I'll do better and to be among the 69% top group of students who obtained scores between 85 and 100 percent.

This is my immediate aim........................I'll keep you posted!!!!

CMA51 and TMA10

Visible to anyone in the world

Here I go again.... I gonna start my 2nd year at OU. I'll be doing MST121 and MS221.

So far, I've received a revision pack for CMA51 and TMA10. Done and submitted CMA51 and still working on TMA10..

Hopefully I'll do better this year and I like to add that I've a pass in the TU100 module.

It's like back to school again........
