Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Anthony Dooley, Thursday, 7 Mar 2013, 12:41

I have written this from the view of a sentry/

infantry man in the british army throughtout the ages. Only they know the cost of what they fought for and why..we who do not fighthave no right toplace ourselves in their place for they fought for britain..Polish,Welsh,Jewish,Scottish,African,Roma..the bulldogs and tigers of England all fought for britain all over the world..

And in my dream,I'm suddenly in the army

and the army life is good but I'm ankle deep in mud

And the legions came at a rattle but we were first into the battle mud

and we beat them for the last time for good*

Then we went with Arthur the bear, and the Raven's wing was strong..we fought them and badon and all were lft ankle deep in blood..**

Then we fought the French at Agincourt and the Frenchy he was good..but the welshman taught them a lesson...those welsh are archers for good*2

then we fought in the Crimea..all for to stop the great Bears flood...we left the light horse there..all in the mud and blood...'On again,on again, they charged..for death and glory..Forward the Light brigade' *3

Then over to India we went..the british fighting Tigers...we stilled the rise of the tribes..at wandiwash..in the Dianapur and Bengal too...

And all over the water to France...to the green fields of Belgium too..into the dark of the Somme and Mametez woods went Britain too die for you..*4

And then the Germans came...tried to take Englands gain...but we lefty them beat for good.all in the battlefields in blood.

then came a falklands fiht...and away the paras went and put the usurpers to flight...

And now we all fight together...for Land and Britain and pride,

And we're all in this together...trying to stem blood's tide

Please excuse the roughness of the poetry..it took twenty minutes to type up...it took five to think up.

Anyway,a favourite song of mine from Padstow in Cornwal...an old English tradition..'The 'Obby 'Oss'
