I've been studying....its interesting the ,I enjoy the rerading but I still prefer free-form poetry...it allows for improvisation. I would love to have heard the old poets sing their work...I don't like the metaphor's though,for me(and I disagree with Jones here) A tree is just a tree....you can place meaning on to it but then that is a signified(ref-Barthes,R; on sign and signified).but it remains a tree for all meaning attached... poetry is like that though and I do like it sometimes I think
'come on Shakespeare..Dickens or whoever just say what you mean... its probably why they are better spoken
