I have just received an email from my local Linux User Group informing me that the world is not totally free of the dreaded millennium bug. The message says that Linux distros have until 2038 to replace the 32-bit time fields in some of their programmes with larger ones.
In about 20 years time the programmes concerned will start to behave oddly.
