Week 7 Activity 3 - Openness

Visible to anyone in the world

I haven't created a visual, all the work by others is amazing. There is a huge variation if you image search this as well. One reason I have not created a visual is that I like Weller's explanation that any definition of openness relates to context and can be hard to pin down.

I've been reading Cormier since 2013. I also participated in #Rhizo15 which was Dave Cormier's last MOOC. Found a few slideshares that were slightly more recent than the readings (most by Weller).

1. Openness in Education: A Beginners Guide (2017) https://www.slideshare.net/GO-GN/openness-and-education-a-beginners-guide

2. Navigating the Open Education Landscape (2017): https://www.slideshare.net/DeOnderwijsdagen/keynote-martin-weller-navigating-the-open-education-landscape-owd17

3. 5 reasons to do a MOOC and 5 reasons not to (Weller, 2013) https://www.slideshare.net/mweller/moocs-march-2013 This reading was particularly interesting as it talks about the 2013 version of H817Open that I participated in. I think the 10 points raised are still relevant.

Martin Weller replied to one of my tweets and said "2013, they were innocent times"....which possible means that things now look quite a bit different in the open ed arena.
