LFC fans' banners - a linguistic landscape

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Frank Monaghan, Tuesday, 12 Oct 2010, 18:38

Just starting to get my head around the 'linguistic landscape' idea and how it fits in with my wish to do some work on Liverpool Football fans' banners - their linguistic creativity and role in forming, shaping, maintaining and developing identity.

This started off as part of a talk I gave at a day school for E301 students here in London after coming across a book by Chris McLoughlin and Adam Oldfield 'Liverpool FC Banners' and really got me thinking about it. Now I've committed to doing a 'lunchtime' research session on it for colleagues before Christmas - yikes!
