I've finally decided to drop any reference to action research being the approach to my research in favour of activity theory.
At first I thought I could combine both approaches but there are too many inconsistencies now that I've actually done so.
I read something yesterday about whether the research is based on ethnography or an experiment. Here I'm not sure yet: could both not be combined?
