Wednesday: grey and damp.

Visible to anyone in the world

Last night, I did NOT sleep well.  It was all getting a bit desperate.  Even the batteries were flat in my trusty Walkman CD player, so I couldn't listen to the meditation track that usually gets me off to sleep in about 15 mins. A dreadful night.

Awake early too. Just before 06:00.  Well timed for booking in for next week's Pilates class.

Watch Spot and Buddy playing in the herbaceous shrubs on the top of the wall in the back garden.

Semi snooze from then on until breakfast and radio.

Another nothing in particular day: radio, reading, music, garden watching.

After a cooked lunch, I walked up the road for my haircut appointment.

On the way back, I saw that frail older man from the bungalow opposite mine was out titivating his front garden for the first time in a long time.  He is looking very frail indeed nowadays.  I went to have a quick chat.  He's had his knee operation and says it feels good.  He has a check up with the surgeon next month.  His even more frail wife who is "getting very forgetful" i.e. has dementia, is getting twice a day personal care for getting up and dressed and then going back to bed.  He says he can't do it himself.  I said it was good to see him looking after his garden again and asked him to pass on my best wishes to his wife.

They and the other frail older lady next door to them are fortunate to have families who are taking good care of them.

This evening, I went to meet the athletic club for a run.  I'm in the slow/red group. Actually, I speed walked a lot of the way, as usual with my long legs.  It was a combination of tarmac estate footpaths, and then new packed hoggin paths on the newest estate. These new paths are very new indeed and I hadn't been them before.  All in all, a nice route through some green spaces. Then back along the usual roads and footpaths.

Still stuck on 29 ! sad  I'm sure I can improve on that.  More HIIT needed !

Good to have a bit of social chat before and after the run smile, and the weather stayed humid, but no rain smile.

Drive home for hot shower and a protein drink.  Write up my blog.  Bed.

Oh... 3 foxes in the garden on the patio outside my office/study french doors.
