Repurposing open resources

Visible to anyone in the world

Well, it's nearly the end of Wk11 and I've just about finished Wk10.  However I have managed to complete the exercise and edit the open material.

I chose to edit the Unit 'Accessibility of e-Learning' from H807 (my version is at H807_1_2.0).  I edited the section on Defining Disability.

What I attempted to do was to change this so that it would be relevant to OU ALs who are not qualified teachers.  I wanted to provide some context that would relate the existing material to the experiences of tutors.  In particular, the student who does not access the available services because they do not regard themselves as 'disabled'.

I found the editing function quite easy (and very similar to the Wiki we used earlier).  I was particularly pleased with myself for inserting a web link to the 'Skill' web page for their Guide to best practice for staff in higher education on disability issues. (I suspect that this was not technically that hard - but I was pleased that it worked).

I still don't like the word 'repurposing' though....
