COMPLEX

Visible to anyone in the world

Small things add to the complexity of writing a doctoral thesis. These are some of them:

  • The use of single (') or double (") quotation marks. When to use which?
  • When to use italics to emphasise concepts.
  • Should I use capital letters to refer to my chapters, my thesis, the main study or not?

Something else that can be frustrating is finding sources. For instance, I must attend this library session on finding e-books: http://learn.open.ac.uk/mod/resourcepage/view.php?id=267960&direct=1
