Yesterday, I learned about a woman who tragically took her own life on the motorway near where I work. The news left me deeply shaken. I found myself wondering what pain she must have been carrying, and how heavy it must have felt for her to believe there was no other way forward.
I thought about her family, did they know what she was going through? Did she feel unable to reach out for help? These are questions I’ll never have answers to, but they’ve stayed with me, leaving a profound sense of sadness.
It’s a stark reminder of how important it is to check in with those around us, to ask “Are you okay?” and to really listen. Sometimes, just knowing someone cares can make all the difference.
