What’s the difference between a stoat and a weasel?

Visible to anyone in the world

The Woodland Trust says:

“The easiest and most reliable way to tell a stoat (Mustela erminea) from a weasel (Mustela nivalis) is the tail.”

But my dad had a different answer:

A weasel is weasely distinguished,

But a stoat is stoatally different,
