Coronavirus vs flu vs alcohol

Visible to anyone in the world

My cousin shared a post on Facebook at the weekend from Anonymous claiming that the first cases of coronavirus were reported  back in October. Funnily enough, I had a 'flu' just after Christmas and when I read the symptoms of coronavirus, I would swear that was what I had. It started with a dry cough on the Tuesday and steadily worsened. By Thursday I wasn't feeling great but I hate being ill above all things so I blasted it that night with paracetamol and a hot poteen or two. I got up on the Friday feeling a lot better and thought that was it sorted. Unfortunately, it came back with a vengeance on the Saturday and I was in bed for the next 3 days and had a couple more days off work. I should have topped up the poteen again on the Friday night, I think that was my mistake!

One of the other girls in the office had this dose before Christmas and it settled in her chest. She was ill over the whole Christmas period and had to be treated in the end for a lung infection.  So, what is the difference between  flu and coronavirus? Not much at all, basically the have the same symptoms, sore throat, cough, fever etc so I don't think you can tell the difference unless you get tested and statistically, flu seems to kill many more people every year anyway but there is no big panic about that.

Then again, an average of 3 people die in Ireland every day due to alcohol related illness so that's probably the biggest killer we have here but again, not much panic about that one either
