Prince Philip

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Aideen Devine, Monday, 19 Apr 2021, 11:50

I'm not a big fan of royalty but I did watch Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday as it was still an historical event and, as royal's go, Queen Elizabeth has to be admired in how she has conducted herself throughout her life.

The music, I have to say, was absolutely beautiful and very moving. I was glad I tuned in just for that alone.

It must have galled the gossips and scum media to have seen William and Harry walking and talking together afterwards and not a sign of tension between them.

However, the whole occasion was marred for me by the bloody masks. Why in God's name was the queen made to wear a mask? At 95 years of age and sitting alone masked at the funeral of the man she loved, who was her partner for over 60 years, where was the humanity?  Johnson and Hancock should be flogged for what they have done to this country.

I don't really have much of an opinion on Prince Philip, he was known for his straight-talking and sense of humour, and enjoyed a joke. Sadly, there aren't more like him in positions of power, especially with all the humourless, politically-correct and self-righteous pontificate's in the world today. It was laughable to listen to the media fawning all over him now, when they hounded him on many occasions and called for his removal from state duties for some of his past remarks. Do they really think we have forgotten? Give it a week or two and no doubt the muck-rakers will be back at it.

RIP Philip
