Does the Cosmos also have Synaptic Potential ?

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Werner Grosse, Wednesday, 2 Nov 2022, 14:10

Hi,

... just sitting over my SD329 study material reviewing synapes ... trying to find a way to remember how this with the spacial and temporal summtation of synaptic potentials 🥴.

And that's what came to my mind: ... synaptic potential fiering to the axon hillock = our planet Earth 😂😂😂

But then I thought: might indeed lightning possible be seen as a kind of electrical synapse between planets? And we just do misinterpret the lightning phenomena today? ...

Who knows ... can send me a comment 😉

Stay well ... and healthy 🤗

You Can Leave Your Hat (aka "Head") On

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Werner Grosse, Monday, 31 Oct 2022, 10:20

🙄 wondering about HOW referencing in your "experimental" paper? Don't worry .. you're not alone 😁

One question which comes across my h(e)a(d or t) right now at 2:29am sitting over my TMA01 of SK320 is:

WHY for sace shall we reference every single sentence we say in a report ?

Ain't we meant to be an open minded scientist, who despite inquering each and every single statement is building its OWN OPINION and THOUGHTS ?

Why then are we requested to refer other sources instead our own thoughts??

Sometimes it seems to me as the whole scientific communication is based in "one referring the other saying". Just didn't find the initial speaker yet 😂

Nevertheless ... enjoy the historical piece of music I shared here ... might it help you to overcome such stupid thoughts as mine about THE SENSE OF SCIENCE 😜

Stay well .. and HEALTHY 🤗

Being smart... ?

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Werner Grosse, Monday, 31 Oct 2022, 10:23

As it says in the description to this video:

Dr.Dr. Manfred Spitzer is one of the most renowned German brain researchers and one who repeatedly warns of the consequences of digital media. And very provocative: "Excessive use of the internet leads to digital dementia. Smartphones can make you dependent and short-sighted."

So how can smartphones and the like be used sensibly? How do we best deal with digital innovation? What new insights does brain research provide?

Manfred Spitzer studied medicine, psychology and philosophy and was appointed in 1997 as the youngest professor of psychiatry in Germany at the University Hospital in Ulm. He is head of the psychiatric university clinic and also founded the transfer center for neuroscience and learning.

Ironically, I saw the video on my smartphone ... but I'm allowed to do so according to Dr. Spitzer ... because at my age my brain is already "finished" 😜

PS: the speech is in German, but you can set the legend option to English

stay well & healty 🤗

This short TED.ed talk here might help to break the old myths that science is a dry and boring issue ... believe it or not 😂
