A Fable For Our Times

One day a designer of assisted mobility was on her way to Thebes in Greece. Suddenly from behind a rock sprung a most peculiar creature. It seemed to be a cross between a human and a lion.

"Unless you can answer my riddle", it said, "I shall devour you. What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?"

"Gosh", she said, "You're the Sphinx. You'd be awesome in the YouTube ads for our new product range. In the clip, you'd just let rip with the riddle, then update the punchline to six."

The Sphinx looked a bit puzzled, so she showed it the Zimmer frame catalogue. The Sphinx was fascinated, signed a contract right away, and never ate another traveller. Its digestion improved no end and it soon had millions of Twitter followers.

Moral: moving with the times isn't always a bad thing.
