I feel like I have learned a fair bit already in relation to study skills, looking at and interpreting things and its only been a couple of weeks since the start.
I'm already three weeks ahead, where I planned to be at the beginning of the module! But i've taken a break from working from the book now for a little while to concentrate a little more closely on TMA 01
Cleopatra - I had initially looked at the passages that I wanted to use in this little essay as well as the one thst is with the essay question, but I had sort of got very confused and marked up bits that I now see as irrelevant (watch as they turn ut to be important bits). I had started a draft copy too... but i knew it was pretty poor from the outset, So i have abandoned that one and taken myself about three hours this morning to run back through the three passsages I wish to use, pick out and for the most part paraphrase parts of it as I noted them for my essay. Then after a brief essay plan I used my notes quite closely to write the essay minus the conclusion, That'll come to me eventually and i will have about 80 words to use on it. I plan to type that up in a few minutes.
Cezanne - Okay, so as a photographer, I thought I knew what I was doing with this... after all i'm used to comparing photographs arent I! Turns out I havent got a bloody clue doesn't it. I reviewed inside art again and made a pretty slapdash effort at the Cezanne essay a week ago. I've now picked out some different points and think I will recompare the two paintings. It doesn't help however that I think Cezanne is a pretty poor artist.
My new house should finally be bought in a couple of weeks, so that three week start I had on the module will soon fade into nonexistence during the month I have allotted myself to decorate and move into my house. I hope I still find enough time for studying too, even if it is just while I'm sat on the floor waiting for a new settee or a new desk!
