So tired, tired of waiting..

Visible to anyone in the world

Still waiting for my tma 03 mark.

I am already 75% through book 4 already. I have already started the tma 4.

I have also downloaded the last 6 years of exam questions and put them into a matrix to inform my revision.

I have a question for simon reed. In your comment to the blog post below, you mentioned last years a222, book 3 tma question, which was different to this years book 3 tma question.

Do you remember all of the tma questions from a222 october 2017 to june 2017.

I would be really keen to know, i could put that info into my matrix to see the relationship between tma and exam questions... that would help my revision program greatly.

Carrillion

Visible to anyone in the world

My brother used to work for Carrillion. He got out from under their shadow 18 months ago.

He is still worried though, he has 20 years of payments into their pension fund.

Jags and saints

Visible to anyone in the world

Well that was a surprise.

Bortalls and the jags over turning the bree's led saints.

A good defence really is a platform for offence.

Can the jags repeat that trick against brady and the pats?

Nfl play offs

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Michael Gumbrell, Sunday, 14 Jan 2018, 11:10

I am very happy that, in an effort to promote the game in the uk, the nfl games are free to view on sky sports.

I have been enjoying the season and the post season so far.

I think the NE patriots will be the team to best. New Orleans has the best route through  the nfc post season pathway. So i would go for a patriots and new Orleans super bowl, the steelers might be the fly in the patriots ointment.

Next weekend are the championship games, that is going to be two great games of football

Tma 3

Visible to anyone in the world

Tma 3 asks us to consider the ends justify the means in relation to consequentialism..

I am tempted to use the trolley thought experiment to answer the tma question.

Or would that be to simplistic?

I hope you all enjoy my content and it is worth a brief procrastination away from our study planners

Thank you everyone.

Online subscriptions

Visible to anyone in the world

Following on from being interested in quantum things. I had a look at a website which provides tutorials on wave form and the algebraic equations related to quantum mechanics.

It all looks very interesting and i would like to work through the materials

However the subscription is 16 pounds per month.

At the moment i cannot afford the subscription on top of all my other monthly bills.

Which is a shame.

Interesting things

Visible to anyone in the world

Quantum game theory looks very interesting. I have been doing some reading about it.

Got to love a qubit.

So once i get a222 out of the way i move onto economics, covering game theory, and once that is covered off i can look at quantum game theory in more detail.

Looking forward to that.

Now i just have to return to chapter 2 and write the tma 3.

Hopefully i can write something in the 65-70% range.

One step closer to home...

Philosophy open day.

Visible to anyone in the world

FASS have organised a philosophy open day in March.

I do fancy going, however it is on a Thursday and it is in Milton keynes.

So do i fancy driving two hours each way to attend, and do i fancy going during the working week?

Might be interesting, but it is a drag to get there.

Simon was right.

Visible to anyone in the world

Simon Reed was right, of course.

Kant is much easier to process, as Simon put it, ' you are better off with a maxim. Gives clarity and something concrete to discuss, shame Kant is not part of this TMA.

The Good Place

Visible to anyone in the world

Having the two weeks off from the study planner over Christmas has been nice.

I did continue to study, but having no work meant i had some extra time available.

So i used my extra free time to watch the first series of The Good Place on netflix.

I enjoyed it, it is a show about philosophy, in fact each episode seems to follow the harvard philosophy curriculum quite closely. I have watched the harvard lectures on youtube.

It is a good series, The Good Place throws up many philosophical questions, and plato, kant, bentham, Hume, satre and Rousseau all feature as a theme of episodes.

It is worth a watch.

Snow

Visible to anyone in the world

It snowed this morning. It almost drifted up to 0.9cm in some places. Then the sun came up and it was all gone by 9.30am.

The joys of living on the south coast....

Did everyone survive?

Visible to anyone in the world

So hopefully you all got through Christmas day okay.

We went to have dinner with auntie Nikita. Due to the age of her children, much of the day was taken up building playmobile airplanes, police cars and trucks, plus much Lego was built.

Which was great fun. Little Ana, who is three got a doctors play set, which meant alot of ear checking and reflex tests.

Dinner was tasty, so all in all, a lovely day

Hopefully you all had a good day, without any hassle or arguments.

A difficult time of year

Visible to anyone in the world

I work in health and social care.

It is frustrating when other people talk about what the 'true meaning' of christmas is.

For those of us who work in the health and social care sector, christmas is about many things, many of them difficult and saddening.

But people don't really want to hear about that.

Ashes to Ashes

Visible to anyone in the world

Well that escalated quickly.

3-0 down in the first 3 tests and the ashes handed back.

I am very disappointed that it all went downhill so quickly.

Lots of lashing out in the press.

Not a great result.

Chapter 2 again

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Michael Gumbrell, Wednesday, 27 Dec 2017, 15:42
#bloodya222.

The block 3 tma question is similar to the last one in structure.

Once again it is all about chapter 2. It is a shame because you plow through 4 weeks of reading and work and only use 1 week of it.

I had a look ahead at all the other tma's and the same structure applies.

It might be possible to write all the tma's by only reading one chapter from each book.

That would leave you unstuck for the exam, however your ocas would be complete.

This is a very odd and off putting module.

I shall not miss it.
