Studying, Walking and recovering from Covid 19 suffering.
8am
I pass the morning reading my french novel. This included looking up certain words, that are still unfamiliar, using a little dictionary. I copied the new words on my digital notebook. When the sunshine arrived at last, I could go outside in the garden to sit and read. It was good to be in the sunshine! I wondered how my french friend was getting on. We had not met together for some years now since 2015. Maybe I will ring her soon.
I watered the roses growing near the door. I just cut back some sharp brambles fron the footpath, so that I can reach the clothes line, in order to hang the washing. Finding things very tiring recently since Covid.19
12am
After, a lunch of french cheese and crackers also a nice herb pâte with Crackers. Fizzy orange juice to drink for dessert with an apple. All vegetarian of course.
2pm
I go to the supermarket to find some cheap brands, as our prime minister advised, but they didn't have any, so I had to buy a few of the expensive brands.
Otherwise I would have to pay the bus fare, which is too expensive, to go to the nearest city to shop around, so that would defeat the object!
2.30pm
I Cleaned up all the downstairs rooms, kitchen, hall, porch, lounge and bathroom. I will clean the upstairs rooms tomorrow.
3.00pm
Time for a walk before the hoards of school children descend upon the park! Where I live it really is just like a Sleepy Hollow!
It is calm and quiet in the park, with a variety of birds such as woodpigeons, crows, couple of magpies and some smaller birds, chaffinches and goldfinches who had landed on the hedgerows, growing all around the park. I sit on the bench under the trees and I watched the birds coming and going.
There used to be a lot more tables and benches here, but unfortunately looks like they removed all the other benches- or they have been stolen!
That's a pity because I used to like to come here and sometimes, to eat my lunch at the table, now there is just one solitary bench to sit on.
Never mind I will take a long walk around the park, then finish back at the same bench again to rest. It is quite a large park, about as big as a few football pitches so it takes a while to get round it!
It is surrouded by lovely very ancient trees. There is also an abandoned footpath, running through the wood, but today I will just stick to the foot path inside the park. At this time it is usually quiet, but about 4pm there will be the usual constant rumbling of rush hour traffic from the dual carriageway located behind the woods, bordering the park.
3.30pm
I looked around the playground area where the swings and roundabouts are, to see if I could pick up any litter, but it seems nice and tidy, especially since the children went back to school !
But wait until the summer hols it will be a different story!
Then I will have to bring my litter picker gadget with me! ( I inherited it from my mother when she died!)
I decide to walk by the long route along the pretty leafy lane, past the police station, then along church street and passing the theatre, library and the church, so avoiding the busy market place.
4pm
Finally I turn into my little road behind the church. I think that I will do a bit of reading again, in between preparing the family's meal.
Rabbits in the mist
Rabbits in the cemetery
This morning sitting quietly in cemetery when I saw two little rabbits playing nearby. They came really close, so I hardly dared move in case they ran off!
The greed of the Supermarkets!
What is happening in our supermarkets?
The prime minister had told the poor to buy only the cheapest unbranded products (supermarkets own brand) but now you can not find them, because they have removed the cheapest available brands, in order to force people to buy the most expensive brands!
This is going totally against helping people with the cost of living crisis. The greed of the supermarkets!
All this is to do with Brexit too of course. Why did they not prepare for this?
I spotted this beautiful poppy growing in the hedgerow beside the field.

Happy Jubilee! 👑
Sadly the weather was very cold and overcast for the Queen's platinum jubilee. However the sun made just a brief appearance.🌞 and it didn't rain!
There were some family's having a picnic in the park as I walked past, the Celebrations were centered mostly around the main Park here in our little village. A lot of young families were out with their children for a walk around the park, so it was a bit busier than it usually is. Music was playing from speakers and lots of buntings and flags around.
Some people were sitting in their gardens near the park, despite the cold weather! having a Jubilee tea with some cucumber sandwiches, pies, cakes and trifle. People have really got into the spirit of the Jubilee celebration. But I think it is the children who are really enjoying the occaison!
I noticed that we have some new benches and planters on the market place, so that will cheer the place up a little bit. The new jubilee benches have just been placed just near the ice cream parlour which is handy!
It will be good to sit there in the summer, but hopefully with less traffic about. I wish the Market place was more quiet and people would park their cars out of the market place. There are two big car parks just nearby so I don't know why they don't park there? The council should provide some free parking days?
I am off indoors now, to have an afternoon Jubilee tea with a trifle!
☕ 🌮🥪 🍨🥂 👑
Happy holiday!

Reading in the French Language
I am reading chapter 4 of my french reading book by George Simenon. I really enjoyed the series on TV so I decided to read the books in French, which I purchased from the Oxfam bookstore in the nearest city. I now have a small collection from the 'Maigret' series.
Although I probably only understand half of what I am reading at the moment, I am learning new vocabulary all the time as I go along. When I don't understand something, I look it up either in my dictionary, or on the google.
The more I read, the more and more the words are becoming familiar to me. I am still rubbish at speaking French, but better at understanding it and I can now write short essays in French. Hopefully I will get there in the end!
I love coming here to this nearby lake to get away and relax when life gets so stressful!
French blog- To a Friend
🌫🌧

Consider the Lily....
Luke 12:27 Consider the Lilies of the field they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say to you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Don't worry about what to wear you are beautiful !
My Rose Garden
I love roses and have a patch near the door where I grow them red, white and pink roses. I also have climbing roses. A lot of people have said my back garden looks like a jungle! Some people have even offered to cut it for me, but I just want to leave it as it is, wild for as long as possible, just to attract many insects and birds.
Why does everyone have to have a manicured lawn like a tennis court ! I think it is all about keeping up appearances, although having said that, if the trees start falling down around me, I might take action !
We have lots of birds and the flowers and the shrubs encourage insects, so it is good for the environment. I now have a mini rose garden near the back door, there I have placed a wooden bench, where I can sit and smell the perfume of the roses.
The roses really are magnificent this year!
